A factory in China held a bizarre kissing contest to celebrate its reopening. However, participants were separated by a plexiglass.
This has sparked huge outrage online criticising the factory for playing loose with social distancing norms in such a crisis.
The factory ‘Yueya’ makes furniture and is located in the city of Suzhou. It had asked 10 couples to take part in the contest. The videos and photos of the event have gone viral over the internet. Couples were seen removing their protective face masks and kiss through a clear glass. They were wearing blue boiler suits.
The organisers defended the event saying it would help workers relax and there was a transparent glass between them. The glass was disinfected with alcohol several times.
