Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar-based architect Swopna Mohanty was surprised when one of her family members noticed a user “Gerald Kung” was added to most of their family members’ Facebook accounts without them knowing about it.
The profile reads that he stays in San Jose, California, but is a native of China’s capital city Beijing.
Swopna filed a complaint with Crime Branch after discovering that Kung was posting anti-government posts which were automatically being liked by her and her family members. After a discussion with 70-odd friends and family members, she claimed that none of them had ever sent or accepted his friend request.
Most of the posts from that profile were targeting one single political party.
They all have blocked the profile and the Crime Branch has started an investigation.
