Chinese Woman Living As Monk In Delhi Held For Anti-National Activities

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested a Chinese woman for staying in India with a forged identity and allegedly indulging in ‘anti-national activities, officials said on Thursday, adding that the woman has been identified as Cai Ruo from Hainan province in China, India Today reported.

The woman had assumed the identity of a Buddhist monk, Dolma Lama, and wore a traditional deep red robe, with a short haircut. She was detained from Majnu ka Tila in north Delhi, a Tibetan refugee colony that is also popular with tourists near Delhi University’s north campus, police were quoted as saying.

During verification, a Nepalese citizenship certificate in the name of Dolma Lama, was recovered from her. However, when enquired with Foreigners Regional Registration Office, it was revealed that she was a Chinese citizen and had travelled to India in 2019, police said.

A case has been registered against her on October 17 under Section 120 B (criminal conspiracy), 419 (cheating by personation), 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security), and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and Foreigners Act at a special police cell, police said.
