Chinmay Pradhan Crowned Champion In AITA Tournament

Bhubaneswar: Local lad Chinmay Pradhan was crowned champion in the men’s singles event at Gurukul resort tennis complex in Mendhasal on Friday. He defeated Arjun Mahadevan of Tamil Nadu 6-4, 6-2.

This was the third singles title for Pradhan who gathered 15 AITA ranking points and cash prize of Rs 6,500.

Runners-up Arjun secured 12 ranking points and a cash prize of Rs 4,500.

On Thursday, Satirtha Patnaik and Ashutosh Das defeated Abhishek Mohapatra and Amrutjay Mohanty 6-3, 6-3 in the final. While the winners got 12 ranking points and cash prize of Rs 3,150, the runners-up got eight points and cash prize of Rs 1,650.

The prizes were given away by Tournament Director Pradip Kumar Pradhan. Tournament referee Jatin Batsya and Odisha Tennis Association manager Prakash Pattnaik were present.
