Berhampur: The Odisha Protection of Interest of Depositors (OPID) court here on Thursday sentenced SS Depositors MD Santosh Tiadi to five-year imprisonment for duping investors in Odisha.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 11.5 lakh on him. Six other employees of the Ponzi firm were awarded two-year jail term with Rs 2 lakh fine each.
The chit fund company had allegedly duped 30 lakh depositors by alluring them with high returns.
