Chit Fund Scam: Seashore CMD Prashant Das Released From Jail

Bhubaneswar: Seashore Group Chairman and Managing Director Prashant
Das, who was arrested in the multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha, was
released from Jharpara Circle Jail on Friday.

Das was released from jail after getting bail in all the eight cases
relating to chit fund scam lodged against him.

Prashant’s brother Pravat Das and middleman Subhankar Nayak, who were
also arrested for their alleged involvement in chit fund scam, were
released from jail earlier this year.

The Seashore Chief was arrested by the State Crime Branch from Mumbai
on June 20, 2013 on charges of duping investors to the tune of Rs 500
crore in Odisha.
