CID Actor Dinesh Phadnis ‘Fredericks’ Dies Of Multiple Organ Failure

New Delhi: Actor Dinesh Phadnis, popular for playing the role of Fredericks in one of television’s most popular show, CID, died on Tuesday at the age of 57. His CID co-actor Dayanand Shetty, who played Daya on the show, confirmed the news of his death to indianexpress.com. He said, “Dinesh breathed his last at 12.08 am.” The actor was 57, and was receiving treatment at Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital.

According to Shetty, Dinesh died of multiple organ failure. There were a lot of complications and he was removed from the ventilator last night.

Actor Aditya Srivastava, who essayed the role of Inspector Abhijeet on the show, told PTI, “We know that he had liver issues and it had an impact on the other organs. He was really unwell for two-three days. He couldn’t survive.”

Earlier, it was reported that Dinesh suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday, following which he was admitted to the hospital. Later, Shetty confirmed it was not cardiac arrest but liver damage.
