Bhubaneswar: The enforcement squad of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on the owners of Ekamra Hall for pasting cinema posters on Bomikhal flyover here.
“The administrative charges were slapped on the owners as the posters cluttered the public space and created a bad ambience on the roadside,’’ Deputy Commissioner (Enforcement) Subhranshu Mishra said.
He said that it will also serve as a message to others to restrain from such activities and those found guilty of defacing public walls will be penalised.
It may be noted here that the BMC squads under three zonal deputy commissioners have taken up strict vigil to make the market places and roads litter and encroachment free through Swachh Market Swachh Road campaign.
