New Delhi: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has slashed the syllabus for English and Indian languages for Classes X and XII for the 2022 academic session.
The CISCE has announced this on its official website (https://www.cisce.org) and advised schools to follow them.
The CISCE is the first board in the country to slash the syllabus for the forthcoming exams.
In a letter to school heads, the Board said in addition to a significant loss of instructional hours during the past year due to COVID-19, teaching-learning processes have been impacted due to the various alternate modes of syllabus transaction that needed to be adopted due to school closure.
“The CISCE has initiated the process of syllabus review for various subjects at the ICSE and ISC levels specifically for Classes 10 and 12 for 2022, to identify portions of the syllabus which may be reduced without compromising on the quality of content,” the letter said.
“This will ensure that all CISCE-affiliated schools will broadly teach the same topics at any given point of time as well as facilitate subsequent reduction in syllabus, if required,” it added.
Meanwhile, the ICSE and ISC board exam results are likely to be declared by July 31.
