CISF Jawan Found Hanging From Tree In Odisha’s Rourkela

Rourkela: Body of a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawan was found hanging from a tree inside the campus of the force at Birsa Chowk in Odisha’s Rourkela on Thursday.

According to reports, the deceased CISF jawan has been identified as Sahil Kumar (31).

Sahil, who hailed from Kathua district of Jammu & Kashmir, was staying in the CISF barrack at Rourkela. His body was found hanging from a tree near the barrack, located under the jurisdiction of Plant Site police station, sources said.

The jawan had reportedly got engaged recently and was to get married next month. Police have recovered a mobile phone from his pocket and have launched an investigation into the incident. The body has been sent for postmortem.

While circumstances suggest that the jawan was suspected to have died by suicide, investigation is in progress to ascertain the exact reason.
