City-Based Entrepreneur Selected For Alibaba’s Fellowship Programme

Bhubaneswar: Grozip, a tech-based on-demand local delivery company engaged in B2B and B2C deliveries in the state, has qualified to attend a Fellowship programme jointly organised by the Alibaba Business School and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). This programme will be presided over by Jack Ma and top leaders from Alibaba.

The programme is a two-week course for entrepreneurs in developing countries, which are operating open, platform-based businesses in the e-commerce, logistics, big data and tourism spaces.

“This will be a big exposure for Grozip and will help us gain knowledge and thereafter apply it here in our business. It was like a dream come true to get mentored by Jack Ma himself. He has always been an inspiration for young entrepreneurs,” said Ananda Mishra, founder of Grozip. He will attend the programme in China.

Apart from delivering groceries, the startup has engaged with OMFED for milk delivery too.

Delivery services have been a hit-and-miss in the smart city. The grocery delivery service, Grofers has stopped operations in the city but recently, Zomato, an online food-delivery service launched its services here.
