Balasore: The long-awaited city bus service for Balasore district was launched on the occasion of 71st Independence Day on Tuesday.
In the first phase, 10 buses will run on five routes across the district. Two buses will ply from Balasore town to Mitrapur in the district via Remuna Golei and two others from Station Square to Gandhi Smruti Bhawan covering Phuladi.
Besides, two buses will run from Station Square to Soro via Banka Khajuri Square and another two from Station Square to Sajnagada covering Sergarh.
Similarly, the two buses will ply between Somnathpur and Balaramgadi via ITI Square in the district.
Ten more buses will be launched in the second phase for connecting other locations of the district, official sources said.
