Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday arrested Anadi Charan Sethi, Civil Supplies Officer, State Headquarters, Bhubaneswar in disproportionate assets (DA) case.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sethi, Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous searches at 5 places in Ganjam, Khurdha and Balasore districts on Monday.
During house searches, following movable and immovable assets including 2 buildings and a market complex in the name of Sethi and his family members worth crores of rupees were unearthed:
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sethi were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which constituted 160% of his known sources of income.
Sethi was arrested as he could not account for the properties satisfactorily. Berhampur Vigilance has registered a case under PC Act, 1988 and forwarded him to court.
