Bhubaneswar: Odisha Cricket Association has been chosen as one of the hosts of Col CK Nayudu Trophy meet for the ongoing domestic season.
Plate Group matches featuring five teams — Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh – will be played at two venues from March 17. Odisha had also staged Ranji Trophy matches of Elite Group B.
The Odisha under-25 team, on the other hand, will play its Elite Group C matches at Trivandrum. Odisha have been clubbed with Madhya Pradesh, Hyderabad and Jharkhand.
As per BCCI’s COVID protocol, the Odisha squad will assemble at Trivandrum on March 17 and undergo three-day quarantine and have two days of practice before playing their opening match against Jharkhand from March 22.
Like the Ranji Trophy, the format for the domestic U-25 tournament has been tweaked slightly, with 37 teams being divided into 9 groups (8 Elite & 1 Plate) and to be played across 9 venues.
