Jajpur: In a tragic incident, a Class IV student died after falling from a swing at a primary school in Tamaka area of Odisha’s Jajpur district on Saturday.
As per sources, the mishap took place during recess at Naya Bagapatia Primary School under the jurisdiction of Tamaka Police Station in the district.
The deceased student has been identified as Somyarajan Sahu, son of Nabaghana Sahu from Naya Bagapatia village.
Somyarajan was playing on the swing when he suddenly fell and sustained critical injuries. He was rushed to a hospital at Danagadi where doctors declared him dead.
The student’s father and other family members alleged that the boy died due to negligence on the part of teachers at the school.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
