Ganjam: In a tragic incident, a Class VI student died on Tuesday when the gate of Bania UGME School under Khallikote police limits in Ganjam district fell on him after being hit by a tractor.
The deceased was identified as Balmiki Gaud, son of Sanyasi Gaud of Bania village.
According to reports, a tractor unloading sand for construction of a latrine on the school premises hit the gate, which collapsed under the impact of the collision and fell on the boy standing near it.
The student was rushed to Khalikote hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
