Jharsuguda: A Class X student went missing in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district since Monday afternoon with his family members alleging that he was kidnapped by unidentified people who demanded a huge ransom.
Police launched an investigation following a complaint by the boy’s parents on Tuesday alleging that their was held captive by some unknown people for a huge ransom.
In the complaint, Sunit Agrawal who stays with family in an apartment at Sarabahal in Jharsuguda town, claimed that his 14-year old son Samarth Agrawal has been missing since afternoon on Monday.
Sunit alleged that his son has been kidnapped from near his apartment as he received a ransom call from an unknown person who asked for Rs 50 lakh to release his son.
“My son had ventured out of the apartment on an electric scooty at 4 pm, but did not return home. After doing a lot of enquiries, he failed to trace him. Finally, we filed a police complaint in this regard,” Sunit said.
He said that police have started an investigation, but his son has not been traced as yet.
