A Class X boy was allegedly stabbed to death by his classmate at a residential school in Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu following a quarrel during a cricket match, police said on Wednesday.
The accused juvenile stabbed his classmate, S Kapil Ragavendra, with a pair of scissors on Monday, news agency PTI reported. The boy died on the way to hospital.
The accused was detained on Tuesday, police said. He was spotted roaming outside the school campus by a police patrol team and questioned. During questioning, he revealed that he had murdered his classmate.
The boy was produced in the judicial magistrate’s court in Dindigul on Wednesday and remanded to a borstal school in Salem district.
Further investigation was underway, police said.
