Rayagada: A Class X boy was crushed to death under the wheels of Rayagada-Sambalpur Tapaswini Express while he was walking on railway tracks near Khamanasahi in the district on Thursday evening.
According to sources, the incident took place as he had earphones plugged into his ears and was hearing to loud music while returning home after taking bath in a nearby stream and failed to notice the train.
Locals spotted the mutilated body and informed railway police, which sent the body for postmortem and began an inquiry. The boy has been identified as Akash Kondagori, the sources added.
