Angul: In a tragic incident, a Class X girl died in a road mishap on Angul-Chendipada Road under Town Police limits in Angul on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Ancha, the daughter of Arun Sahoo of Kumand village.
According to sources, she was mowed down by a speeding truck when she was on her way home after attending classes in the school. The speeding truck ran over her while she was crossing the road.
Her family members took her to a nearby hospital. She was referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
However, she succumbed to her injuries on the way to Cuttack.
Irate locals blocked the Angul-Chendipada Road demanding compensation for the deceased’s kin.
