Malkangiri: A Class X student tragically lost his life, and another was injured after a pick-up van collided with the motorcycle they were riding near Chandanguda in Odisha’s Malkangiri district on Thursday.
The victim has been identified as Bikram Sardar, a student of Padmagiri High School.
According to sources, the accident took place when Bikram and Tapas Sardar of MV-101 village were on their way to Matric examination centre at Serapali. Bikram sustained head injuries and died on the spot. Tapas was immediately taken to a local hospital for medical attention. He later appeared for the examination.
It is being suspected that the Bikram was unable to control the heavy bike leading to the crash. Both the biker and the pillion rider were not wearing helmets.
