Rourkela: A Class X student was run over by a truck near Chakramal in Odisha’s Sundargarh on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Amran Ray of Dhelasara in Sargipali area.
According to sources, the accident took place when the student was on his way to Nialipali High School on a motorcycle to appear for the High School Certificate (matric) examination. He fell off the two-wheeler after a head-on collision with the truck and was crushed under its wheels. He died on the spot.
Tension ran high in the area as irate locals blocked road, disrupting vehicular movement.
On being informed, police reached the spot and pacified the protestors.
