Bhubaneswar: An on-duty constable had a miraculous escape when a vehicle-mounted crane rammed into the traffic post at Sishu Bhawan Square in the Odisha capital on Saturday.
According to sources, the accident took place around 8 am when traffic constables, Bijay Sahu and Prakash Martha, were manning the post. They ran for their lives on seeing the speeding crane, which was en route Raj Mahal Square from Airport Square, closing in.
The traffic post was completely damaged in the crash.
Police detained the crane driver following the accident.
