Patna: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar had a close shave on Saturday after his boat collided with a bridge on the Ganges here.
Nitish had gone to inspect Chhath Ghat, ahead of Chhath puja, when the accident took place. As the boat rammed into a pillar of JP Setu.
Fortunately, everyone on the boat, including the CM, were safe. There was no significant damage to the boat also.
Chhath is a major Hindu festival celebrated by people of Bihar and parts of Uttar Pradesh. The four-day festival culminates on October 30 this year.
During Chhath, the sun is worshipped in the morning and evening, as devotees visit rivers and lakes to offer puja before taking bath.
