Cuttack: Sprinter Dutee Chand escaped narrowly unscathed after a truck rammed into her BMW car near OMP Square in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Thursday evening.
According to sources, the incident occurred when Dutee was travelling back to Bhubaneswar from Jajpur with a female friend. The collision caused significant damage to the vehicle.
After the accident, Dutee pursued the fleeing truck and managed to stop it near Kathajori Bridge. She then contacted police. Madhupatna Police soon reached the spot and detained the truck driver for questioning.
“The truck driver started honking near OMP Square. Even after we gave the way, he deliberately hit our car and tried to escape. I chased him down near Kathajori Bridge and called the police,” said Dutee.
She further alleged that the truck driver hurled abuses at them and behaved inappropriately.
