Jharsuguda: It was a close shave for an ambulance driver and a patient when the vehicle overturned after being hit by a tractor on National Highway No. 49 in Odisha’s Jharsuguda district on Tuesday.
According to preliminary information, the ambulance was proceeding to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) at Jharsuguda from Lakhanpur when the tractor dashed against it near Sadar Police Station on the highway in the afternoon.
As the ambulance overturned after being hit by the tractor, the patient being carried in the ambulance, an attendant and the driver escaped with minor injuries.
On being informed, a team of police personnel reached the spot and rushed them to the hospital for treatment.
While both the vehicles were seized by the police, the tractor driver was trying to flee the scene. However, he was caught by locals and handed over to the police.
