Puri: A day after a teenage boy died after being hit by a speeding train while filming an Instagram reel close to the railway tracks, a youth had a close shave while performing dangerous stunts on Puri sea beach on Wednesday evening.
According to sources, wheels of his scooter got stuck in the sands as he drove towards the sea with waves advancing towards the shores along the Golden Beach stretch while recording a video for social media. Luckily for him, locals rushed to his help and pulled him and the scooter back to safety.
On Tuesday, Vishwajeet Sahu (15), a resident of Mangalaghat, was struck by an approaching train while standing close to the railway tracks to record a short video for social media while visiting Dakshinkali temple with his mother.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accident occurred because of the teenager’s negligence while trying to record a social media video, ignoring safety warnings near the railway tracks.
