CM Announces 30 More Cyclone Shelters In Kendrapara

Kendrapara: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday reviewed the damage in Kendrapara district rendered by the cyclonic storm Fani.

Presiding over the review meeting at the District Collector’s office in the afternoon, he announced that the state government will construct 30 cyclone shelters in the most vulnerable areas at a cost of Rs 2 crore for each shelter.

Apart from this, the government will provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh for the repair of each school and Anganwadi centre damaged by the cyclonic storm.

Stating that power and water supply in the district have already been restored, the Chief Minister directed the district administration to provide livelihood support to Women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs), farmers and fishermen at the earliest.

Kendrapara Collector Premchand Chaudhary and senior district officials were present in the meeting.
