CM Announces Health Insurance For Working Journalists

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday announced a new health insurance scheme called ‘Gopabandhu Swasthya Bima Yojana’ for working journalists of the state.

The scheme will be implemented in the state on June 1. As many as 3, 233 journalists will be provided with health insurance cards under the scheme in the first phase. The insurance cards will be distributed to the journalists through the district information and public relations officer concerned. Besides, upto five family members of every working journalist can also avail up to Rs 2 lakh towards health insurance, a notification issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) informed.

The beneficiaries can avail the facility by using their health insurance identification number after June 1.
