Puri: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced that the state government will provide interest-free loan to women Self Help Groups (SHGs) under Mission Shakti programme.
Making an announcement to this effect at the state-level convention of Mission Shakti groups at Talabania Sports Complex here, the Chief Minister said the government will also provide a cheque of Rs 15,000 as seed money to three lakh new women SHGs, Rs 3,000 to each SHG for mobile phone as part of the digital empowerment and Rs 25 lakh to the women federation at the block level.
On the basis of the announcement, the Chief Minister later handed over cheques to the women SHGs and the women federation through digital payment mode.
More than 50,000 women SHG representatives across the state attended the programme.
