Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday sanctioned Rs 37 crore for 166 panchayats in nine blocks of eight districts under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Yojana at the block level.
The Chief Minister sanctioned the amount for 1,473 projects after interacting with the block representatives through video conferencing at the State Secretariat here.
Of the sanctioned amount, Rs 2.585 crore has been earmarked for 121 projects in 15 panchayats of Bhatli block in Baragarh district, Rs 2.44 crore for 119 projects in 13 panchayats of Padmapur block in Rayagada district, Rs 3.547 crore for 144 projects in 15 panchayats of Tentulikhunti block in Nabarangpur district and Rs 8.76 crore for 403 projects in 35 panchayats of Salepur block in Cuttack district.
The CM also sanctioned Rs 5.25 crore for 136 projects in 21 panchayats of Talcher block of Angul district, Rs 4.60 crore for 221 projects in 26 panchayats of Narla block of Kalahandi district, Rs 3.01 crore for 84 projects in 14 panchayats of Kenuagaan block of Kandhamal district, Rs 4.20 crore for 164 projects in 17 panchayats of Sarasakana block in Mayurbhanj district and Rs 2.24 crore for 81 projects of 10 panchayats of Jamada block in Mayurbhanj district.
Adding today’s sanctioned amount, the Chief Minister has allocated a total of Rs 919 crore for 37,331 projects in 4,054 panchayats of 184 blocks.
More than one lakh people were present in the programme.
It may be noted that under Ama Gaon Ama Bikash Yojana, the Chief Minister is discussing the proposals directly with the villagers and then he is sanctioning the amount for the proposed projects.
