Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday inaugurated the automatic traffic signal project at Nico Park Square here.
Five of the total 20 such signals were inaugurated this morning. The remaining 15 will be made functional in a phased manner.
“The signals are being put up in the state capital with an investment of Rs 14.69 lakh to minimise manual intervention in traffic management,” a senior government official said.
The CM also laid foundation stone for a slew of other smart city projects, including multi-car parking systems at Sahid Nagar and Unit-2 and Janpath project at Sisu Bhawan Square.
Among others, housing and urban development minister Niranjan Pujari, MP Prasanna Patsani, and MLA Bijay Mohanty were present.
