Cuttack: Sanitation management in the Millennium City is all set to undergo rapid changes with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurating the sewage treatment plant (STP) at CDA Sector-1 here on Wednesday.
The project was ‘Ama Sahara Ama Unnati’ programme
According to the sources, the Rs 110-crore plant under ‘Ama Sahara Ama Unnati’ programme, has a capacity to treat 3.60 crore litres of sewage a day.
More than 275-km of sewage pipeline network has been laid under the JICA project.
Drainage pumping station with discharge capacity of 72 lakh litres per hour has also been completed at Police Colony here.
The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone of Maulana Azad National Urdu University campus at Sector-13 of CDA.
This proposed university will offer polytechnic and ITI courses in the first phase.
