Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched a new scheme ‘Ama Ghare LED’ at a function here on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, commissioner-cum-secretary, Energy, Hemant Sharma said family of each beneficiary of National Food Security Act (NFSA) and the State Food Security Scheme (SFSS) will be provided four LED bulbs of 9 watt each free of cost under the scheme.
About 95 lakh beneficiaries in the state will benefit.
The state government will procure 3.80 lakh LED bulbs for distribution among the beneficiaries, who will be provided the bulbs during the PEETHA (People’s Empowerment—Enabling Transparency and Accountability of Odisha Initiative) camps scheduled to be held between January 15 and 20.
Notably, the Chief Minister had launched the PEETHA scheme on December 3 last year with an aim to create awareness among the people about various schemes of the Odisha government and improve transparency in the distribution of individual and social benefits.
