Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Thursday called upon people to strive to place Odisha among the top three states in national cleanliness rankings.
He further stressed the need to pledge to work together for a prosperous and new Odisha while participating in a mass cleanliness drive organised near Lingaraj Temple here on the occasion of Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign and 110th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya,
Ministers, legislators, the mayor, local residents, and students took part in the drive organised by Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation.
The CM also paid tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, highlighting his significant contributions in spreading Indian cultural philosophy and a unique economic ideology. “He believed in Antyodaya, the upliftment of the last person in society, ensuring progress reaches the most marginalized. Following his ideals, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee established good governance in the country. In the present context, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the greatest proponent of Pandit Deendayal’s philosophy, with every programme and scheme dedicated to the poorest and most helpless in society,” he noted.
He further stated that the gathering under the theme ‘One Day, One Hour, Together’ reflects a collective resolve.
The CM also planted trees near Devi Padahara Pushkarini under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0 initiative.
