CM Majhi Dedicates Parallel Road On Jayadev Vihar Stretch, Infocity Travel Time Slashed To 10 Minutes

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi on Friday inaugurated the new Ekamra Kanan road in Bhubaneswar, an alternative route to Infocity which is expected to slash travel time to just 10 minutes, bringing major relief to daily commuters.

The inauguration of this crucial 200-foot-wide bypass marks a major milestone, coinciding with the completion of the state government’s two years in office. The new route to the left of the Jayadev Vihar-Nandakanan stretch, connects the Institute

of Mathematics with Ekamra Kanan via Infocity. It is specifically designed to alleviate the chronic traffic congestion that plagues the main arterial stretch between Jaydev Vihar, Patia, and Nandankanan, while decongesting the NH-16, which most people use to shuttle between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. It is expected to effectively divert and reduce traffic load on the busy Jaydev Vihar-Nandankanan road by nearly 50%.

Speaking on the occasion of the government’s second anniversary, Chief Minister Majhi highlighted his administration’s key achievements and reiterated the government’s commitment to transforming urban infrastructure to improve the everyday lives of citizens.

Notably, the newly constructed 13-km road stretch has had faced various execution challenges, including land acquisition and forest diversion, over the last three years.

Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, Works Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, Bhubaneswar Mayor Sulochana Das, Ekamra-Bhubaneswar MLA Babu Singh, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Chanchal Rana and other senior administrative officials were present on the occasion.
