Bhubaneswar: A day after securing investment proposals worth over Rs 2.10 lakh crore for Odisha in Abu Dhabi, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi led a series of high-level talks with UAE Minister, investors and industry leaders in Dubai on Thursday.
The Chief Minister reached Dubai on Wednesday night after signing MoUs for 14 new projects with IHC and the Adani Group in Abu Dhabi. Majhi received a grand welcome in Dubai from business delegations and members of the Odia community residing there.
The investment opportunities and industrial potential of Odisha will be showcased to the global business community during these meetings in Dubai.
The second day of Odisha’s UAE investment outreach will focus on high-level government engagements, investor interactions and sector-specific business discussions.
Officials said the Chief Minister held a crucial meeting with Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, Cabinet Member and Minister of Economy and Tourism, UAE, and Chairman, Council of International Investments.
The discussions focused on strengthening economic and investment ties between Odisha and the UAE, with particular emphasis on exploring new investment opportunities in Odisha.
The Chief Minister highlighted Odisha’s favourable business environment, strong industrial ecosystem and investment potential across key sectors, and invited UAE-based investors to explore opportunities and invest in the state.
This apart, Majhi will lead the Odisha delegation in one-on-one meetings with industries to explore investment opportunities and strengthen business partnerships with the state.
A roundtable with aluminium downstream industries is set to showcase Odisha’s strong aluminium ecosystem and investment potential.
A significant meeting is scheduled to be held with the Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC) to strengthen India-UAE business linkages and promote investment opportunities in Odisha.
Majhi and the Odisha delegation will also visit Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) to explore opportunities for collaboration in the aluminium and downstream sector.
Other engagements include an Industry Roundtable with Bureau of Middle East Recycling focusing on recycling, circular economy and sustainable industrial opportunities, and an Interactive Session with Odisha Business Delegation to discuss business opportunities, market linkages and strengthening Odisha-UAE economic ties.
Notably, on the first day of CM Majhi’s high-profile UAE visit on Wednesday, the state government signed agreements with Abu Dhabi-based International Holding Company (IHC) and the Adani Group to explore 14 new projects involving an estimated investment of Rs 2,10,500 crore.
