Rourkela: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated the Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) Pavilion at the 25th edition of Enterprise Odisha at Rourkela.

Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain was also present at the inauguration held on Tuesday. The Chief Minister took a detailed walkthrough of the pavilion, appreciating the OMC’s diverse initiatives and contributions to the state’s industrial growth.

OMC’s participation in the exhibition underscores its stature as India’s third-largest iron ore producer. The corporation is steadily moving towards record production in the current fiscal year, driven by operational efficiency, scale, and robust mining practices. The Pavilion serves as a showcase of OMC’s journey and its expanding role in str

At the exhibition, OMC is highlighting its sustainability-focused initiatives, digital innovations in safety and operations, and mineral exploration projects. The corporation is also presenting its value addition efforts through its Ferrochrome Plant and Chrome Ore Beneficiation Plants, which contribute significantly to downstream industries.

Currently, OMC operates 19 mines across Odisha, producing iron ore, chrome, bauxite, manganese and limestone. These resources form the backbone of key mineral-based industries such as steel, aluminium and ferrochrome. In addition, OMC, under the mandate of the State Government, is spearheading mineral exploration projects to unlock new reserves and strengthen Odisha’s mineral resource base.

Enterprise Odisha, being held in Rourkela from January 27 to 30, provides a vital platform for industry stakeholders to showcase capabilities, exchange ideas, and explore growth opportunities. OMC’s presence at the event reflects its strategic role in Odisha’s mineral-led industrial development and its commitment to supporting the state’s evolving industrial ecosystem, while contributing to national mineral security goals.
