Bhubaneswar: In a bid to attract visitors and get them acquainted with Odisha’s art and culture, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed that the entry fee of any museum in the state should not be more than Rs 10.
The Chief Minister also directed that no fee will be charged for students, artisans and weavers for entering museums.
The move will help public, especially the youth, students and tourists, get better acquainted with state heritage, art and culture.
“Odisha is the land of art. Our art and culture have created a unique identity of Odisha all over the world. Museums have played an important role in preserving and promoting this great heritage of ours,” the Chief Minister said.
Therefore, the entry fee of any museum in the state should not be more than Rs 10. Steps should also be taken to make the museums in Odisha more popular so that tourists can get a chance to visit them, he said.
It may be mentioned here that Bhubaneswar houses the State Museum, and the Tribal Culture and Research Museum, while the Maritime Museum is located in Cuttack. The Chief Minister’s directive will go a long way to popularise these museums and attract visitors.
