Patna: Bihar Chief minister Nitish Kumar tested positive for Omicron on Tuesday.
In fact, all 40 COVID-19 samples sent from Bihar to Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) for the second round of genome sequencing were found to be infected with the new variant of coronavirus.
The samples were collected between January 1 and 11. The CM’s office had tweeted on January 10 that he had tested positive for COVID-19.
Bihar’s Omicron tally went up to 67 as the state reported 4,551 new COVID-positive cases on Tuesday. The total number of active cases in the state is 33,883.
