Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a fish retail selling outlet ‘Chilika Fresh’ in front of Keshari Talkies here on Wednesday.
Inaugurating the kiosk, Naveen expressed happiness on seeing a variety of fish stocked in a hygienic manner. Three such outlets have already been opened by FISHFED.
“The state government and Falcon Marine Exports Limited (FMEL) have jointly opened this outlet here with an aim to provide fresh and quality fish at reasonable prices. Through this outlet, the farmers will be able to sale their products directly without middlemen interference,” informed FMEL CMD Tara Patnaik said.
Target has been set to open 100 more such outlets in Berhampur, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Bhadrak, Jeypore, Baripada and Bhawanipatna in a phased manner, he added.
Apart from that, 10 ‘Fish on Wheels’ vehicles were also launched with a view aim to provide fresh fish and shrimps to consumers in the city.
