CM Orders Crime Branch Probe Into Wedding Gift Explosion Case

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, on Thursday, ordered a Crime Branch probe into the Patnagarh wedding gift explosion case in which two persons died and another suffered grievous injuries.

The move came a day after the victim of the sensational case Reemarani Sahu appealed the Chief Minister to take stringent action against those involved.

Reemarani, who is undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, had stated that a thorough probe should be conducted regarding the origin of the parcel delivered to us and other aspects so that the culprits are traced and nabbed at the earliest.”

Reema’s husband Soumyasekhar Sahu and his grandmother Jenamani died while opening the gift parcel delivered to them in their house at Patnagarh of Balangir district on February 23.

During the course of investigation, the police had found that the parcel was sent from Raipur of Chhattisgarh by one RK Sharma through Skyking Courier Services.
