Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday reviewed the grim flood situation in Balangir, Kalahandi, Boudh, Sonepur and Kandhamal districts. He interacted with the Collectors of these districts in a video conference at the Lok Seva Bhawan here.
The Chief Minister asked the Collectors about their requirements, so that the state government can provide them without delay to expedite relief and rescue operations.
Acting on a report of the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) that more than 10 lakh cusecs of water will flow into Mahanadi by the morning on August 15, the Chief Minister directed the Collectors of Khurda, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh and Kendrapara to remain on high alert. He also asked them to intensify river bank patrolling to ensure that floodwater does not breach the embankment.
