Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday sanctioned Rs 10 lakh to BSF Constable Mohammad Anees, whose house was burnt down by rioters during the recent communal violence in northeast Delhi.
While his family members are safe, the house suffered extensive damage.
The 29-year-old constable is working with the 9th Battalion deployed in the Maoist-affected district of Malkangiri in Odisha. “This Battalion of BSF is responsible for the overall security in the Swabhiman Anchal (erstwhile cut-off area), which includes the Gurupriya bridge in Malkangiri district,” a release from the Chief Minister’s office said.
The release further said that the Chief Minister was saddened on learning about the incident. He also spoke to the constable.
