Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate new projects and lay the foundation stone of several upcoming projects during his one-day visit to Balasore district on Wednesday.
As scheduled, the Chief Minister will arrive at Talasari at 12.15 pm where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 33 projects worth over Rs 151 crore. Later, he will inaugurate the Talasari Beach Festival and address the gathering.
From Talasari, he will arrive in Balasore town at 3 pm and inaugurate 33 projects worth Rs 311 crore.
Naveen will lay the foundation stone of Subarnarekha Port, a joint venture of the Odisha government and the Tata Steel, at Chaumukha near Baliapal at a projected cost of Rs 5000 crore. The proposed port will have 12 berths with an annual cargo handling capacity of 25-55 million tonnes. It will provide employment to about 12,000 youths of Odisha.
The Chief Minister will later arrive at Balaramgadi and lay the stone of a fishing harbour at an estimated cost of Rs 50 crore, which will benefit about 35,000 local fishermen.
Apart from the proposed ring road in Balasore town and the IDCO Tower (Rs 36.63 crore), he will lay the foundation stone of 39 projects worth Rs 691 crore at an estimated cost of Rs 36.63 crore.
