Cuttack: With the state government directing the district and municipal authorities to ensure strict implementation of COVID-19 guidelines, Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Sunday formed two enforcement teams.
An official order issued by the CMC stated that the two teams will enforce wearing of masks and maintaining social distances at crowded places like markets, religious institutions, marriage functions, shops and market complexes in the city.
Each team comprising four employees of the CMC will be headed by an officer.
The enforcement activities will start from Monday under the supervision of Dr Abinash Rout, deputy commissioner of the CMC.
Earlier on the day, the government directed all collectors, SPs and municipal commissioners for strict enforcement of the safety guidelines in public places, educational institutions, offices and hotels due to a spike in COVID-19 cases in some states.
