Cuttack: Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Monday lifted shutdown restrictions in the city while the conditional opening of shopping malls has been allowed.
According to a notification issued by CMC, it has decided to lift the shutdown restrictions in the silver city after reviewing the current situation. However, CMC also stated that weekend shutdowns on Saturdays and Sundays will continue in the city till July 31.
Moreover, the shopping malls are allowed to open subject to an undertaking for adherence to social distancing and norms of Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Measures,” an official order of the CMC said.
Any person violating the lockdown rules and the National Directives for COVID-19 Management will be liable for prosecution as per the provisions of Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, besides legal action under section 188 of the IPC the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897 and other legal provisions as applicable.
