Cuttack: With 144 corona positive cases reported in the last three days, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Sunday ordered mandatory 14-day institutional quarantine for the returnees from some districts of Odisha.
The order issued by CMC commissioner stated that some returnees from the hotspot districts of the state have tested positive for COVID-19. In the greater interest of the public, those people coming from Ganjam, Khurda, Jajpur, Gajapati and Balasore districts to the city will have to spend 14-day institutional quarantine from the date of their return.
The order also applies to those coming from Nischintakoili, Narsinghpur, Mahanga, Badamba and Tigiria blocks of Cuttack district, the commissioner said.
The ward officers of the CMC have been directed to keep a watch on the returnees to their wards and inform the authorised officer to admit them in institutional quarantine centres.
