Cuttack: A day after the owner and manager of a private hospital in Odisha’s Cuttack city were arrested for irregularities in BSKY, the CMC sealed the health facility on Saturday.
As per reports, a team of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) officials and police conducted a raid on JM Care hospital at Nuapada. As the hospital authorities failed to produce necessary documents during the raid, the CMC team sealed the hospital.
However, the hospital has been asked to submit the document within three days. “We have issued a notice to the JM Care Hospital to submit the required document including trade licence, land NOC, registration, building plan, holding tax and agreement by Monday,” said CMC health official Satyabrata Mohapatra.
It may be noted that Prasanna Kumar Patra from Bhubaneswar had filed a complaint at Madhupatna police station in Cuttack alleging that negligence on the part of doctors of JM Care Hospital led to death of his wife on March 7.
During investigation into the complaint, the police came to know that the JM Care was not empanelled under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY). The documents mentioned that Patra’s wife was admitted to Shobha Hospital, a BSKY empanelled hospital, at Paga in Cuttack.
Dr Chinmay Kumar Sahu of JM Care in connivance with the owner of Shobha Hospital, Ashok Pati and manager Shantanu Pati had carried out the irregularities by forging the documents. Following this, police arrested Ashok Pati and manager Shantanu Pati.
In January, the South Point Hospital in the city was also found to be involved in irregularities under the BSKY and de-empaneled by the health authorities.
