Coal-Laden Goods Train Derails In Odisha, No One Hurt


Bhubaneswar: A goods train carrying coal derailed between Sikir and Titlagarh stations under Sambalpur Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR) in Odisha on Monday.

There was no report of any casualty or injury due to the incident, ECoR said in a statement.

It said the incident took place around 11.23 am when the rear trolley wheel of the 14th loaded wagon from the locomotive derailed.

Immediately after the derailment, senior railway officials rushed to the site. Accident Relief Train from Kantabanji rushed to the site and restoration work is in progress on a war footing, it added.

Following the incident, passenger train movement remains unaffected. All efforts are being made to restore normal train operations at the earliest, officials said.
